Why do people read blogs

Blogs are read by people to learn new things.

The most common reason people read a financial blog post to learn something is by far the biggest. This is not surprising to me.

Why? Search traffic is often high for posts that contain guides, step-by–step processes, tutorial videos or quick-facts. People are searching for instructions on how to do things every day on Google.

Even if posts don't inform people on how to do something at a granular scale, blogs that discuss complicated topics, such as trends or subjects people are less familiar can spark a person's interest.

Researchers have found that people crave information in a similar way to food and wealth. Bloggers can use this information to spark curiosity and discuss topics that are relevant to your brand, product, or service.

On the Marketing Blog, for example, we might show how to use Clubhouse, a new social network. Marketers and social media users looking to learn more about this topic can search our content on search engines or use social media to find it.

Our blog may create multiple pieces of content discussing a trend from different angles. We wrote several blog posts about TikTok's development to help marketers answer questions such as "What is TikTok?" ", or "How can brands market themselves on TikTok?" ", or "How can you leverage influencer marketing on TikTok?"

Guide or trend-related blogs help us highlight our knowledge and research as marketers. This could be a way to show a prospect HubSpot is credible and sells quality products in the marketing industry.

Blogs are a great way to keep up to date with current trends in your industry.

People might not be interested to read blogs that discuss your brand or product, but they may be more interested in blogs that focus on an industry you are a part of.

The poll results noted in the introduction were from general consumers with mixed profession backgrounds. However, it is likely that workers will read blogs if they are educated or provide valuable information about their industry.

HubSpot Blog data and readership clearly show that HubSpot's audiences enjoy reading about trends in marketing, sales, and website industry. Our readers become even more engaged when they receive tips and data from experts on how to navigate these trends.

Clubhouse, a social media audio app for music, was recently in the news. HubSpot had been monitoring this trend even though the app was primarily used by celebrities. We started producing content about the trend once every-day users began to use it, and brands were invited to join the app.

We went beyond explaining Clubhouse and why it was so popular. We also included quotes and opinions from social media marketing professionals about Clubhouse's potential brand potential.
